Cotton Futures Join Other Ags in Higher Action

Cotton futures prices are trading 29 to 40 points higher on Thursday, late morning. Futures posted weaker trade on Wednesday, with contracts down 44 to 52 points in the nearbys.  Energy futures are lower. The US dollar index posted gains earlier in the day but has retreated from those.

The Seam reported 17,636 bales of online sales on January 21 at an average price of 62.28 cents/lb. ICE cotton stocks were unchanged on Monday, at 218 bales of certified stocks. The Cotlook A Index was unchanged on 1/21 at 78.05 cents/lb. The USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) was back down 68 points from the previous week on Thursday afternoon at 53.98 cents/lb. It will be updated later today. 

Mar 25 Cotton  is at 67.53, up 39 points,

May 25 Cotton  is at 68.58, up 30 points,

Jul 25 Cotton  is at 69.65, up 28 points
